Jamie Reynolds Joyner

Jamie was born on January 9,1948 in Albany Georgia. She was the daughter of George Spears and Constance Young Reynolds of Albany Georgia and Tallahassee, Florida.

Jamie graduated from Leon High School in 1966. Following High School, Jamie was a flight attendant. She then met and married Jerry Sprague and gave birth to her son, Samuel Rufus Sprague, on May 1, 1971.

She was predeceased in death by: Sam’s father, Jerry Sprague; her parents, George S. and Constance Y. Reynolds; sister, Marie Reynolds; brother, Thomas Reynolds; and nephew, Larry Alligood

Survivors are: son, Sam Sprague of Tallahassee; husband, John Joyner of Georgetown, Georgia; brother, George & Ruth Reynolds, III of Tallahassee; sister, Julia & Larry Nowlin of Fernandina Beach, Florida; nieces and nephews: Randy Messer, Cynthia Sparks, and Amy Porter of Tallahassee, Austin Nowlin and Autumn Nowlin of Fernandina Beach, Florida, George, Sarabeth, and William Reynolds of Tallahassee; many great nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

Jamie obtained a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Florida State University as well as a Masters and Advanced Masters Degree in Library Science. She is a retiree of the Georgia school systems.

She was also a Chapter Regent of DAR. She enjoyed antique shopping, taking care and loving her son Sam, her nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

A service of remembrance will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312. Private Interment following service. Floral Arrangements to be sent to Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home on Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida.
