

Jane Smith Wolfarth, age 72, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025. Born on August 2, 1952, in Quincy, Florida, Jane was a loving wife, devoted sister, and loyal friend to many.
She was a longtime member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and a proud graduate of Greensboro High School. Jane went on to attend Chipola Junior College and Florida State University, where she met the love of her life, Rick Wolfarth. The two were married in Hollywood, Florida, in 1981 and shared 44 wonderful years together.
Jane began her career at the Diplomat Hotel in South Florida before she and Rick returned to Tallahassee. There, she served the State of Florida and later worked as an office manager for several consulting firms. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, Jane was also a gifted proofreader—always the one people turned to when something had to be perfect.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Malcolm and Marjorie Smith. She is survived by her husband, Rick; two brothers, Jerry Smith (Laura) and Roger Smith (Agnes); and a host of extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jane’s memory to St. Francis Wildlife Association or Samaritan’s Purse, two causes close to her heart.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at MeadowWood Memorial Park at 10:00am.
Jane will be remembered for her beauty, her quiet strength, her adventurous spirit, her enthusiasm for traveling, and the kindness she showed to all who knew her.
