He was born in Miami, Florida on November 25, 1945 to the late Joseph and Margaret Coney. Jerry graduated from FSU where he received a Bachelor of Science degree and FIU where he received his Master’s in Management. On January 23, 1971, he married the love of his life, Kathleen Coney.
Jerry had a career in Law Enforcement with Miami Metro Dade. He had a passion for hunting, traveling, Seminole football, riding his Harley, woodworking and being Mr. Fix-it.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons, Philip (Jodi) and Patrick (Megan); daughter, Patricia (Jon) Brannon; and grandchildren: Emma, Nate, Lilly, Zachary, Amelia, Landon, Logan and Ella.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 5-7pm at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with burial following at the Tallahassee National Cemetery at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice or Open Door Women’s Clinic.
