Jill leaves behind a host of family and friends who loved her dearly. This includes her adopted Larson siblings, Sharon, Bill (wife Karen) and Jim (wife Debi); her Allison siblings, Rene (husband Kevin), Rusty, Robin (husband Bill) and Jay; her wonderful nephews and nieces; and her very special cousins.
As a 911 Communications Officer, long-time 911 supervisor, and Property and Evidence Specialist, Jill was a dedicated and one-of-a-kind public servant to the citizens of Tallahassee, providing over 30 years of service as the calm and steady voice on the phone helping them on what may often have been the worst days of their lives. On the radio, Jill had the voice that everyone knew and respected.
A proud graduate of Florida State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in criminology, Jill loved to cheer on her Seminoles every chance she had.
During high school in Vero Beach and her early college years at Indian River Community College Jill spent many happy hours performing in chorus, numerous musicals and the jazz/rock/pop college group “Company” where she forged life-long friendships. In later years she was a member of the Tallahassee Community Chorus. With a multi-octave ability to sing from baritone to soprano, she had a unique gift that provided many hours of joy to others.
We can only imagine that she is now happily telling one of her many entertaining 911 stories and belting out her favorite Broadway, Disney and silly tunes for a whole new audience.
A Celebration of Life will be held on a date still to be determined.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.CulleysMeadowWood.com for the Allison family.
