Jo Ann Sewell, 83, of Tallahassee died Saturday, January 30th, at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. Born February 2, 1932 in Etowah, Tennessee, she moved to Tallahassee from Pensacola in 1973. A career educator, she served for many years as a librarian in the Taylor County School System until her retirement. A graduate of Florida State University, she was also a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, and a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church. Jo Ann was a professionally trained singer and enjoyed singing, particularly with the church choir. She pursued a keen interest in genealogy, traveling whenever and wherever she could, and spending time with her family.
Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Paul T. Sewell, she is survived by a son, Tom (Janet) of North Port, FL; daughter: Paula S. (Stan) Warmath of Tallahassee; sisters Mary Dean Fischer of Clearwater, Bennie Baker of Pensacola and two grandchildren, Martin and Griffin Sewell.
