Joan Rebecca Bryant

Joan was born on March 31st, 1932, in Donaldsonville, GA, as the seventh of eight brothers and sisters. She married WWII veteran Davis (JD) Bryant on September 7th, 1946. They had three children: Andy Bryant, Janice Gorman, and Peggy Kelley.

Joan was known as a faithful wife, loving mother, and gracious lady to all. One of her greatest sources of happiness was her family and spending time with them. Some of her favorite activities included fishing alongside her husband, completing puzzles on her kitchen table, and tending to her backyard garden of flowers, fruits and vegetables.

She worked in the cafeteria at Leon High school for many years and then in the office of her daughter and son in law’s family business.

She is lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her husband of 78 years, Davis (JD) Bryant; children, Andy Bryant, Janice Gorman (Tommy), Peggy Kelley; grandchildren, Mike Gorman, David Kelley, Monica Bailey (Blair), Andrew Bryant, and five great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by Scott Gorman and Jesse Kelley.

Services will be held at Abby’s Funeral Home (4037 N Monroe St, Tallahassee, FL 32303) on Friday, December 13th. Visitation will be at 1:00pm ET with burial onsite at 2:00pm ET
