Mrs. Rieker was a 1st Lt in the Air Force after graduating nursing school. After serving, she continued nursing in hospitals, home health facilities, and rehabilitation facilities.
She was passionate about animals, especially dogs. She loved her dogs very much. She also was an avid supporter of the A.S.P.C.A. Her favorite pastime was crocheting and then giving it away to others.
She is preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her brother Burton A Thomas of Albany, GA; two sons: Scott Rieker of Tallahassee, FL and Duane Rieker of Colorado; three granddaughters: Kelli Rieker of Tallahassee, Kathryn Rieker Plummer and Elizabeth Rieker, both of Brooksville, FL; two grandsons: Kevin Rieker of Tallahassee, and Tom Rieker of Brooksville. She also has two great-grandsons, Alan Rieker of Tallahassee and David Plummer of Brooksville.
A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held November 22 and 3PM at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park-700 Timberlane Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
