The world became a little less bright with the passing of Jodi Michelle Martinez on April 14, 2022 at the young age of 53. All who knew and loved Jodi admired her relentless strength and courageous battle against cancer, in which she defied all odds and expectations.
Jodi was a native of Yonkers, New York and graduated from Mamaroneck High School then later from Iona College, where she earned a network engineer degree. Jodi later made her home in Cape Coral, Florida and then Tallahassee where she worked several years for the Social Security Administration.
Jodi’s greatest joy in life was being an incredible mother to her daughter, Kylie, and son, Michael. Second only to motherhood was her passion for animals, especially horses. Jodi’s home was always shared with multiple four-legged friends.
Jodi wed the love of her life, William (“Papi”), on December 26, 2009. In William she found a kindred spirit, devoted to her in every way. Jodi truly sparkled and had a smile that would light up any room. Her passion for life, her creativity, her limitless love and fierce protection of those she held dear will be forever missed.
Jodi is survived by her loving husband, William Carlos Martinez, daughter, Kylie Fella, son, Michael Fella, brother Michael (Jill) Erbaio, stepchildren Dariel (Natalie) Martinez and Darianna Martinez, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family as well as dear friends. Jodi was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Erbaio (née Whitley) and father, Michael Joseph Erbaio.
A private celebration of Jodi’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice, in recognition of their tireless efforts during her final days.
Our beautiful, irreplaceable, extraordinary Jodi will shine in heaven now and live on forever in our hearts.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.CulleysMeadowWoodFuneral.com for the Martinez family.
