Jo was my oldest sister of the three Jones girls. Because Jo was 12 when I was born, she and my younger sister were pretty instrumental in raising me. I loved going places with my two older sisters when they could drive. We'll all miss Jo, always a lady who made things happen.

Joellyn was our father's second wife. In a really remarkable coincidence - Joellyn and our father were introduced by the same woman, our Aunt Muriel, who introduced our father and his first wife, our mother Margaret, more than five decades earlier.

Our father fell in love with Joellyn at first sight.  There's a story we like to tell: Soon after they met, our father started a vacation in Europe with a couple of our siblings.  Following the trip, they arrived back in Williamsburg, Virginia where our father had a home.  As the taxi was driving up the driveway, our father got out of the moving vehicle and ran to the house so he could call Joellyn and let her know he had returned.

Joellyn had a beautiful spirit.  She was a lovely woman and was loved as a member of our family if only for a short time.  We remember her delicious Crawfish Etoufee and the way she greeted us at Christmas wearing a red-lighted Rudolf The Reindeer nose.

At a time when he was a widower, his children grown, his military career over, Joellyn lit up our father's life. She made his last years extremely happy, and for that we owe her everything.  May you rest in peace, Joellyn.
