A native of Tallahassee, FL. and son of John Lindley and Caroline Anderson Barthelmess, John was born in Augusta, GA. He graduated from Emory and Henry College in 1983. He spent several years managing private country clubs and acting as culinary director in Mississippi, Virginia, and South Carolina before returning to his childhood home of Tallahassee, FL. John was an avid sportsman and loved Alligator Point (his heaven on earth) like no other.
Surviving are his mother Caroline Barthelmess of Tallahassee, FL. and his sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Jeff Robb of Dadeville, AL.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday March 11, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00PM at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home (1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, FL 32308).
Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice (723 Mahan Center Blvd. Tallahassee, FL. 32308). Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home (850-877-8191) will be in charge of arrangements.
