John William Bedenbaugh Jr.

John was born on June 7, 1965, to the late John William Bedenbaugh, and Mary Josephine Rentz, and grew up in Tallahassee, Florida.

He honorably served in the United States Army. He was employed as an airport runway electrician for most of his career working all around the southeast and as far away as Alaska. He was most recently self-employed. His skills and willingness to help others won him many friends and loyal customers.

He enjoyed fishing, riding jet skis and cookouts at the lake with his family. He was an outgoing and kind man. He will be missed.

John was preceded in death by father, John William Bedenbaugh.

Survivors include: his mother, Mary Jo Rentz of Tallahassee, FL; his son, John William “Bo” (Sara) Bedenbaugh III of Port St. Lucie, Florida; his daughter, Lacey Bedenbaugh of Port St. Lucie, Florida; his sister, Cynthia (Chuck) Hefren of Tallahassee, FL; his half-sister, Mandy Bedenbaugh of Quincy, Florida; stepsiblings, Gil Massey, Les Massey, Mary Charlotte (Jeremy) Sullivan, Jan (Rick) Glover, and Whit Rentz; and niece, Isabella Hefren.

A funeral service with military honors for John will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Florida 32311. Following the funeral service with military honors will be a catered reception at 2:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32308.
