John Crolla, 87, passed away with family at his side on April 13. John is survived by his children, Gary, Jody and Ronnie; one brother; 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. John moved to Tallahassee in 2014.

Native to Chicago, Illinois, John spent most of his life in Fort Lauderdale. John attended Auburn University where he played football for the War Eagles. After college, he entered the U.S. Air Force and afterwards, spent most of his professional career in insurance sales.

Above all, John loved his family without question. He was a friend to all, putting others first before himself. For this, and a million other reasons, he will be missed dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Big Bend Hospice (850-878-5310).

I’ll always remember what a good grandfather you were towards Allison. She treasured her time with you as a child and as an adult, her pop- pops.

Where do I begin? 54 years of memories with dad.

He was not a ‘toss the baseball’ type of dad, but he tought me life lessons that seem difficult to find these days - work ethics, honesty, integrity, truthfulness, and so much more.

I see myself adding memories here time and time again, for dad offered so much, even though he asked for so little in return, except “Family First”, always.
