John Hewitt Landers, 78, of Tallahassee, entered into rest on Sunday October 5, 2014. John was born in Medford, Massachusetts on September 15, 1936. A longtime resident of Tallahassee, John retired from the Tallahassee Regional Airport as an Air Traffic Controller Supervisor after 36 years of service with the FAA. He was also the proud leader of the Boy Scout Troop #110 and an avid UF Gator Fan.
John is survived by his wife, Emily Landers; children, Jean Landers Osland (Bill) and Jack Judson Landers; grandchildren, Shelby Christine Tye, Ashley Conner Tye, Alyssa Raye Howell and Grace Elizabeth Landers; great-grandchild Joshua Ryan Tye. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Judson Titsworth IV and his beloved cat Saxton.
Funeral Services for John will be held at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 1689 Old St. Augustine Road, on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John’s honor to the Boy’s Scouts of America.
