October 20, 1936 - May 13, 2023
Predeceased by her parents Goldie and Paul Charlip, sister Maxine, husband Philip, and many beloved kitties and puppies. Survived by son Larry (Terisa), daughter Beth (Barbara), dear friends/family Lisa (John) and Michelle (Robert), and lots of cousins, nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren and great-grandbabies.
Joyce was born in Brooklyn NY and was a huge Dodgers fan until their unforgivable move to that other coast. She was a legal secretary in Schenectady NY for many years, acting as a paralegal before there were paralegals, taking great pride in her work, and setting the attorneys straight on everything from law and procedure to client relations and office management.
Joyce had a wicked sense of humor and could match wits with anyone. She was fastidious about her appearance and was never seen without perfect hair and color-matched tops/pants/socks/shoes/purse. She was a hopeless romantic and never, ever, ever tired of looking at men. She was not much into politics but thought certain politicians were idiots. She was generous with family, friends, and charities, especially the American Cancer Society and animal organizations.
The family extends deepest gratitude to the kind and supportive caregivers of the Villas of Killearn Lakes and the gentle and professional care of Big Bend Hospice.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
