Juanita was born January 29, 1927, the daughter of Aaron Vernie Davis (1888-1966) and Lois Frances Parramore Davis (1892-1966). The Davis family moved to Tallahassee in 1930.Juanita attended Caroline Brevard School and graduated from Leon High School in 1944. She worked for the State of Florida Road Department from 1946 to 1952. She raised three children, moving to Panama City, Florida, to Mobile, Alabama, and returning to Tallahassee in 1967.Juanita worked for the State of Florida from 1967 to 1989, in the State Road Department, Division of Corrections, Division of Youth Services, and Central Financial Services.
Survivors include a son, Ray Bassett, of Okeechobee, FL, a daughter, Cile MacKinon of The Villages, FL, a son, Robert Bassett of Havana, FL, a sister, Bobby Mallet of Atlanta, GA, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Cemetery.
