She was raised in Marianna, FL and was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Letha Hebb as well as her brothers, Mark (Linda) and Steve (Terri) Hebb. Julie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jim, daughter Leeanne (Tony) Chandler, stepson Robbie (Pam) Zimmerman, stepdaughter Pam (Tim) Strickland, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Julie attended nursing school at Florida State University. After graduation she obtained advanced degrees in social work and in nursing. She worked in Tallahassee as a nurse and nurse practitioner in the hospital, private practice, home health care, Bond Clinic and at the Veterans Administration.
Her extraordinary caring personality was the basis of her life’s work as would be confirmed by her many patients. That caring personality was also a large part of her personal life.
She was a joyous lady who loved the natural world with a garden full of wildflowers, butterflies and hummingbirds. She was an artist who enjoyed painting, pottery and knitting. Her greatest artistic talent was the creation of unique, wonderful meals for her family and friends.
A service commemorating Julie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home at 700 Timberlane Road in Tallahassee, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis Wildlife Association, www.stfranciswildlife.org
