I send my deepest condolences to Natalie and his family. He was exceptionally brilliant and incredibly kind, modest, and open to others. Anders' scholarship is inspirational to all of us as we pursue our personal dreams and aspirations to their fullest. Peace.

It seems like I have always known Anders. Since before the year I spent at CMU in the 80's I knew "of" him. After that year, I knew him. Since that time he became a trusted colleague whose work alternatively inspired and infuriated me (in all of the various good ways that research can do both). He was a giant in his field and when he walked the earth moved. He will be missed.

I knew Anders at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh Where he conducted amazing research on memory and expertise. His work and book on Verbal Protocol analysis was a classic contribution to Cognitive Science and changed the way I do my research. He was a kind and humble man. A model for us all.

To the family,
My sincere condolences. Dr. Ericsson was a giant in his field. I am very grateful for his wisdom and time he gave me over the last 12 years. He was an amazing thinker, and his kindness, research, and wisdom will always be with me. Thank you for sharing him with so many of us. As a retired naval officer, “fair winds and following seas” to Dr. Ericsson.
