Kenneth E. Ludwig, 76, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, while under the loving care of Big Bend Hospice. Ken was born in Reading, PA, to Harry and Ruth Ludwig on September 5, 1938, and has lived in Tallahassee since 2009. Prior to that he spent 25 years in Jacksonville, FL, and previously resided in TX and PA. After graduating from Northumberland High School, PA, in 1956, he joined the US Army Reserves and then attended Williamsport Institute of Technology. He worked as a District Manager in the retail industry and was a member of Deer Lake United Methodist Church. Ken was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting in his younger years, and continued until recently to play tennis, fish and golf. He was a member of the Hilaman Golf Club and was a proud member of the HOGS (Hilaman’s Own Golfing Seniors). He was an avid fan of his two favorite sports teams - Penn State and Florida State. He also found great joy in traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alice Lessman Ludwig, of Tallahassee, FL; daughters, Lynne (Rick) Waller of Arlington ,TX, and Amy (Mark) Zubaly of Tallahassee, FL; sister-in-law and husband, Sue & Charlie Hummel of Selinsgrove, PA; and grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, and Kenneth Waller, and Avery and Carson Zubaly.
A Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 2nd from 10-11 AM at Culley’s Meadowwood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Rd., with the Funeral to follow at 11 AM. The Committal service will be held at Culley’s Meadowwood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Rd., with a Reception to follow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL, 32308.
