Kevin Jermaine Nesbitt

Kevin was born in Miami, Florida, on July 26, 1972. He graduated from Taylor County High School and later proudly served two years in the United States Navy.

After a five-year courtship, Kevin married Dawn Weatherly on February 21, 2017. Together, they continued building a life filled with love, companionship, and many blessed years side by side.

Kevin dedicated much of his working life to the lumber and paper mill industry. He worked faithfully at Gilman’s until its doors closed and then continued his career at Buckeye until it, too, closed. He later found his place at Binderholz, where he continued working until his passing. Kevin was a hardworking man who took great pride in his work and in providing for those he loved.

Kevin was a kind and thoughtful man with a wonderful sense of humor. Although he could be shy, those who knew him well knew how much he loved to joke, laugh, and bring a smile to the people around him. Some of the sweetest moments were found in the simple things, especially at home with his wife, Dawn. The two of them enjoyed cooking together, creating delicious meals and sharing the kind of everyday moments that became some of life’s most precious memories.

Kevin also had a deep and lifelong passion for football, and few things brought him more joy than cheering on the teams he loved. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, proudly stood behind the Alabama Crimson Tide with his favorite “Roll Tide,” and always had a special place in his heart for the Miami Hurricanes.

His love for football, his sense of humor, his kindness, and his thoughtful nature were just some of the many things that made Kevin uniquely himself. The memories of game days, laughter, jokes, meals shared together, conversations, and quiet moments with those he loved will forever be treasured.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Nesbitt.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Nesbitt of Perry, Florida; his mother, Teva Harris (Mike) of Perry, Florida; his son, Tireak Nesbitt of Tallahassee, Florida; his stepsons, Michael and Brandon Knowles of Perry, Florida; his stepdaughter, Abbeygail Weatherly of Perry, Florida; and six step-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, Derrick Nesbitt (Rachel) of Perry, Florida; his sister, LaQuita Dunnell (Varian Sr.) of Perry, Florida; his sister-in-law, Karen Ward (Jamie) of Crawfordville, Florida; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Kevin was deeply loved by his family and friends. His hardworking spirit, gentle and thoughtful nature, wonderful sense of humor, and the happiness he found in sharing life with those he loved will live on in their hearts.

Though his time here ended far too soon, the love Kevin shared, the laughter he brought, and the memories he leaves behind will remain forever.
