OBITUARY

Mr. Lance William Laufman

January 13, 1958November 6, 2019

Lance William Laufman, 61 of Tallahassee, Florida; Master Painter, Craftsman, Fixer of all things, Political and Jeopardy aficionado, and the hardest working M.O.B. to all who loved him, died peacefully Wednesday November 6, 2019 in the comfort of his home.

Lance was flipping houses long before Chip and Joanna Gaines or HGTV were ever a thing. He was a master of making something out of nothing and never met a plot of wide open land and a house with good bones he didn’t like.

The women in his life were few, he particularly fancied strong women. He loved his mom, Barbara, and his sisters Becky, and Sherry, who survive him.

He married his best friend of 21 years, the love of his life Mary, who couldn’t have been a better partner to him and who he loved fiercely.

He loved his children, Jennifer, Shane, Joshua, Johnathan, Carolyn, Monte, and Penny. He taught them to fish, to select a quality hammer, how to hold a paintbrush, and the value of hard work. He took great pride in building and providing for them at every step of their life.

He took extreme pride in his 7 grandchildren, who were the light of his life, William, Jordyn, Victor, Monica, Addy , James "Bubbie", and Zane for whom he lived to hear their laughter, accomplishments, and the sound of their feet running across the floor.

He had a life-long love affair with good sharp Vermont cheese, peanut butter, rice at every meal, and sometimes after, served warm with milk and sugar.

He is preceded in death by his father William "Bill" and two brothers, Shane and Scott.

A celebration of life will be held at the St. Mark River on Sunday November 17, 2019 at 12:00pm.

Lance was a one of a kind man. He loved his wife, Mary, with everything he had in him. You could see it if you spent any time with them. His family was his everything. The look in his eyes when he was with his grandkids was amazing to witness. The love shared between Mary and Lance over the past 20 plus years is a once in a lifetime kinda love. Rest easy up there, brother in law. Thank you for everything you did for myself and my family.

Lance was a good man and my sister was his inspiration to better himself, from buying his first home to being a successful painter. When he and my sister were married he always boasted about her being the light of his life and his soulmate. I know Johnny will make him proud following in his dads footsteps,There will never be another Lance Laufman ... RIP brother

I met Lance at 16, and it was Love at first site.
We were Life Partners and Raised 3 wonderful children. He was a landscaper in Ft. Lauderdale for some of the most prestigious homes and hotels, including the Fontainebleau in Miami. He loved to dig and create.
We Started a Painting business called L & L painting and was very successful.
Lance and I raised our kids in our first home we bought and restored! There was nothing he couldn’t do or fix.
Lance and my dad Old man Bill Scott were best friends and Loved Family.
His Grandson Shyne William Laufman and Granddaughter Novaleigh Laufman ( not mentioned), are Angels in his Life as well.
He was Pop Pop To Our Grandkids.
He will be remembered with Love , Strength and Passion for Life.
