

Larry died on February 11, 2012 of cancer and was 70 years old.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 35 years, Ruth Blair Taylor, his parents Walter and Catherine Taylor and nephew Louis LaBuff.
He is survived by his daughter Adrienne Taylor Granger (Johnny); granddaughter, Brooke Granger; sister, Shirley LaBuff (Ron) of Magalia, California; nephews, David LaBuff of Danville, California, Mark LaBuff (Rasma) of Magalia, California, Brian LaBuff (Kathy) of Galveston, Texas; and niece, Kelly Levy (Craig) of Antioch, California.
Larry was in the military (Army) for 6 years. Upon discharge in 1969 Larry and Ruth moved to Merritt Island, Florida where Larry worked at the Kennedy Space Center as part of the Apollo Moon Landing and then taught high school electronics at Merritt Island High School until 1973. After this time the Taylors moved to Tallahassee where Larry earned a BS in Vocational Education and an MS is Postsecondary Education. Larry and family then moved to Marianna, Florida where he was a principal of vocational and career education programs at the Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys for four years, at which time the family moved back to Tallahassee where Larry was hired by the Florida Department of Education to work in the Industry Services Training Section. Larry was with the department for many years and then moved to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation until he retired from state service in 2003. During this time Larry became a professional golf club builder and repairman and is said to have cut down and re-gripped over 10,000 golf clubs for junior golf for the local junior programs in Leon and Wakulla Counties and in Ireland, Africa and other places for the PGA of America.
Larry was a wonderful husband, father, “papa”, brother, uncle, but most of all he was known for being a great friend.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 am Friday, February 17, 2012 at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Road.
