

Lewis was born in Colquitt, Georgia on May 10, 1938, and was the youngest of thirteen children.
He married Susan Farmer in February of 1957. Lewis and Sue had four sons, Wayne (Monique), James (Lisa), Terry (Vanessa) and Tony (Tina). Lewis was also affectionately known as: Pops, Lew, King Louie, Papa, and GrumPa.
Lewis was preceded in death by his wife Susan, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He is survived by his four sons and their wives, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren and his life partner, Tara Morgan Alford.
Lewis held a Master Plumbing License and had run two successful plumbing companies; Sure Plumbing and Lew and Sons Plumbing. Lewis loved his family and enjoyed family bar-b-ques, racing motorcycles, and stock cars with his sons. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, golfing, which he had two holes in one, darts, which he won two championships, horseshoes and cornhole, a pastime that he enjoyed immensely with family and friends.
Lewis and Tara enjoyed many camping adventures, hunting (he bagged the biggest deer), and fishing.
Lewis was an umpire of little league, high school, college baseball and softball. He was very handy and could build and fix just about anything. Lewis was a honest, generous, kind, helpful and giving man, and enjoyed life to fullest.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 5:00PM at Lewiswood Farm, 4500 Natural Bridge Road, Tallahassee, Florida, 32305.
A brief memorial will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 2:00PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park found at 1221 53rd Ave E, Bradenton, FL 34203, with inurnment and military honors to follow at 3:00 PM.
