Lillie Genell "Nell" Whatley Helms passed away November 11th in Rome, Georgia. Nell was born in Abbeville, Alabama on March 17, 1926. Her childhood years were spent in Donalsonville, Georgia where she graduated from Donalsonville High School. Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Helms; grandson, Jonathan Alphin; son-in-law, Alan Lyons; brothers, J.C., Leonard, and Bobby Whatley. Nell is survived by her children, Debra Lyons, Beverly Alphin (Ron), five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
