Linda Alice Moncrief, 65, of Tallahassee died Sunday (4/19). Born in Memphis TN to James and Marcie Porter on June 10, 1949, she spent most of her school years in Memphis and graduated from Memphis Technical High School in 1967. Prior to her marriage to Phillip in 1974, she worked as a medical assistant and was a volunteer at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Linda lived in Hartford, Ct. and Pensacola, FL before moving to Tallahassee in 1991. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a charter member of Good Samaritan United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Phillip, mother: Marcie Porter of Humbolt, TN, uncle: O.C. (Amelia) Tucker of Memphis, TN; cousins: Jackie (Gary) Autry and Joe (Cindy) Cheeks both of Milan, TN.
Linda is predeceased by her father and brother: Kenny Porter.
