Lois Marie Jugenheimer passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018. She would have been 100 years old on September 20, 2018. She lived a long and very productive life. Her husband of seventy-six years, Richard Campbell Jugenheimer, preceded her in death on October 20, 2015.
Lois Marie was the youngest of twelve children born to Mary Ann (Maguiness) Wright and Peter A. Wright, and she was the last of all of them to pass away. She often said that the reason for her longevity was the absence of peer pressure. They all resided in and around Akron, Ohio where Lois went to St. Sebastian Grade School and St. Vincent's High School.
Lois and Richard were married in 1939 when both of them worked for The Ohio Bell Telephone Company, from which they would also both retire. They had four children, all of whom survive today: Ann Grant and her husband, Robert, live in Dallas; Richard L. and his wife, Kathleen, live in Tallahassee; Peter E. and his wife Barbara live in Jacksonville; John P. and his wife Patti live in Hoschton, Georgia. Lois and Richard had twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Lois was a devout Roman Catholic and was responsible for converting her husband to the Church and raising her children through Catholic grade schools, high schools, and colleges. She worked tirelessly for the priests and congregations in the many parishes attended by the family over the last seventy-five years. She sewed doll clothes, organized dance classes, created a hundred quilts, and baked numerous cakes and pies over the years, using her talents as a cook and seamtress to help other people.
A memorial Mass is planned for Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 8:30 AM, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with interment of her ashes in the Columbarium afterward. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the hospice of your choice.
