

Born in Marianna to the late Felix and Maggie Ingram, Magdalene was a lifelong resident of Florida, residing for many years in Fort Lauderdale before moving to Lake Wales in 1984 with her husband J. David Sarvis. The Sarvis’s enjoyed living in Polk County and being involved in the community where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales. Magdalene enjoyed maintaining their Victorian home, including many hours of gardening and decorating, and had the gift of hospitality.
Magdalene was preceded in death by her beloved husband J. David Sarvis; sisters, Georgia Fussell, Emily (Jean) Hill, Violet Cupp; brother, Osie Ingram; daughter-in-law, Janet Tillman and son-in-law, Roger Clingan.
She is survived by sons Dwight Tillman Jr. (Chris Sharkey) of Greenwood, Bobby Tillman (Noel) of Viera, Timothy Tillman (Molly) of Daphne, AL; and daughter, Donna Clingan of Mayo; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother-in-law Daniel Cupp and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express gratitude to granddaughters Regina Clingan, Wendy Dickinson, Crystal Stormant, and family friend Chris O’Neal, for the daily, loving care they provided to Magdalene during the last two years of her life.
Visitation will be held at Culley’s Funeral Home on Riggins Road in Tallahassee on Wednesday, August 21, from 11:30am-1:30pm with southern food and beverages provided. A burial service will follow at Tallahassee National Cemetery at 2:00pm.
