

Ruth was born July 28, 1918, in Doraville, GA, to William Colin Hewatt and Amy Azalee Atkinson Hewatt. She lived most of her life in Atlanta, GA, moving to Tallahassee after suffering a stroke in 2005. Ruth was employed by Montag/Mead paper company for over forty years prior to her retirement. Additionally during those years she assisted her husband Horace Bagley in his photography business. She was responsible for all of the bookkeeping and art work. Ruth loved her home and family and was most comfortable when with them. She enjoyed a close relationship with her sisters. She enjoyed working in her yard and with her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Trenton Bagley in 1980; and her second husband, Lewis Summers in 1996; and by two sisters, Alma Wigley and Linnie Whetstone.
She is survived by her daughter, Jo Anne (Jody) Straub (husband Charles Straub); two grandchildren, Ginger Blackburn (husband Alan) and Tim Williams (wife Carie); and four great grandchildren, Amber Leachman, Sonya Williams, Sienna Williams and Trent Williams; and her sister Dorothy Lewallen.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, April 12th at H M Patterson & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1020 Spring St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30357, Phone: (404) 876-1022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday April 13th at Patterson's with burial at Crestlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308 in Ruth's memory.
Arrangements are uinder the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Florida.
