

Margaret Lang Mitchell, 85, of Tallahassee, died Wednesday (11/8) at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. A native of Waverly, GA she came to Tallahassee 58 years ago from Brunswick, GA. She had worked for the State of Florida as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Environmental Protection. Margaret was a member of the Good Samaritan UMC and had been very active at the church. She often volunteered her time for others and was also nominated by the Governor for the United Way Poster. She enjoyed spending time sewing and doing monograms, she also was a gardener and went fishing when possible. Traveling and bird watching were also activities she enjoyed. However she was always happiest when with family and attending family reunions and also caring for her dogs.
Survivors include her husband: Duane; daughters: Sherry (Gary) Bryant of Tallmadge, Ohio, Carol (Pat) Kaye of Tallahassee, Patricia Rumsey of Atlanta, GA; sons: Joe (Ann) of Tallahassee, Mike (Cindy) of Pittsburgh, PA; sister: Virginia Barnes of Crawfordville; eight grandchildren: Shelly Bryant, Stephanie Daves, Patrick Bryant, Greg, Natalie, Haley (Mat) Harley, Katie, Morgan; and three great-grandchildren: Ava Grace Dave, Jason Noah Bryant, Benjamin Parker Bryant.
