Angie lived a life of adventure including growing up with seven siblings. She met the love of her life, Maynard Bozik, in 1957 at the Big Mug open-air root beer stand in Sarasota, FL. She befriended Audie and Mary Bozik who had recently moved to the area from Illinois. They called their son, Maynard, telling him, “We found the perfect girl for you.” Maynard came to visit the area unbeknownst to him that the great love story between him and Angie was about to begin. Upon first seeing Maynard step out of his car, Angie proclaimed, “I’m going to marry that man.” Three years later, they were wed and soon had two beautiful children: Todd and Mary.
Angie and Maynard always marched to the beat of their own drum. When they said they wanted to live on a boat, they stayed on a trimaran for two years. After sailing around the Caribbean, Angie and her family finally settled in Deerfield Beach, Florida. There, they built a successful business before eventually moving to Tallahassee, Florida. Their two children met their respective spouses, and they found their family growing as they were blessed with four grandchildren over the next few years. During this time, they worked together every day at Mayco Kitchens and Baths. In between running their business, they always enjoyed finding time to take their children and grandchildren camping, to Disney, and on numerous other adventures.
Once Angie and Maynard finally retired, the couple continued their trips including a trip out West to visit Maynard’s brother’s family. They also spent time in Alaska with Angie’s brother and his wife as they continued to explore across the vast United States. Later in life, Angie was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought bravely on and off for the better part of a decade. She will be remembered for her kindness, work ethic, and fun-loving nature. More than most, Angie truly adopted the mantra of living life to the fullest.
Though we close this chapter of her book, Angie’s memory lives on in her husband Maynard, her children Todd Bozik (wife Anne) and Mary White (husband David), her grandchildren Christopher Bozik (wife Svitlana), Diana White, James (JD) White (fiancée Danielle Montgomery), and James Bozik, her siblings Mitzi Johnson, Naomi Coblentz, Elmer Rimer, Rose Dearth, and Fred Rimer. She has been preceded by her mother and father and her sisters Tina Shaw and Carolyn Brooks.
The visitation will be on February 3rd at 6:00 pm at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312. The service will be on February 4th at 2:00 pm at the same location.
