Mark Caster

Born on May 5, 1953 in Trenton, and raised in Hightstown, New Jersey, Mark was a proud graduate of The Peddie School. Encouraged by his loving parents, Frank and Marcy, he was active in Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout, alongside his beloved brothers Scott, Jeff, and Michael. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from American University in Washington, D.C.

After college, Mark embraced his adventurous spirit, exploring the country in his VW camper van, sleeping on the cliffs of the Pacific Ocean, prospecting for turquoise in Arizona, and making his way to visit family and friends along the way.

Mark eventually settled down in Tallahassee, Florida, where he called home for 40 years. He built deep roots in the community through scouting, Temple Israel, business ventures, and a wide network of friends and family. Annual traditions like Cinco de “Marko” and Memorial Day camping trips to the Spirit of the Suwannee brought people together and reflected what Mark loved most – good friends, family, adventure, and having a good time.

Mark built an accomplished career by forging his own path as an entrepreneur and small-business owner. He founded a successful telecommunications company and pursued many other ventures over the years. Some of the work closest to his heart was his advocacy on behalf of the Parkinson’s community. Through organizations including Rock Steady Boxing and PD Life, Mark worked passionately to raise awareness, inspire others affected by Parkinson’s, and bring people together in support of a cause that meant so much to him.

Those who knew Mark will remember him for far more than what he accomplished. He was a beloved friend to many - loving, loyal, friendly, and reliable. His many adventures brought countless people into his life, and his genuine interest in others allowed those friendships to grow deep and last.

At the center of Mark’s life was his family, which was among the greatest sources of happiness and pride. He was a proud and devoted father to Steven and his wife, Taylor, and James and his wife, Kristen, filling their lives with encouragement, laughter, and unwavering support. Becoming a grandfather brought him another profound source of joy, and he cherished his grandchildren, Sloane, Blair, and Russell.

Mark will be remembered for his tremendous heart, adventurous spirit, generosity, and ability to bring people together. He inspired those around him, made friends wherever he went, and brought light into the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark’s memory to two organizations he helped found and faithfully supported, Parkinson’s Disease Trailblazers at Sweat Therapy Fitness and The Parkinsonlife Corporation.
