I will fondly remember Marvin as one of the best bosses I ever had (at DOR), and I am thankful to him for his friendship and leadership during those years.  Many prayers to the Alford family during this time.

The MMRF is saddened by the loss of Marvin Alford, a longtime supporter of the MMRF. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family. Marvin's passing will motivate all at the MMRF to work even harder to accelerate the development of new treatments in order to extend patient lives.

Marvin was a great friend and coworker.  We've not known a more positive person in our lives and will miss him greatly. We are better people for having had Marvin in our lives.

From the first grade at Kate Sullivan, then to Cobb and on to Leon, Marvin was there. I have fond memories of class parties and Halloween carnivals and lots of fun in elementary school. My deepest sympathy to his family and also to cousins Jimmy and Carol, may God grant you all peace and comfort.

I echo the sentiments of George Mannheimer. Marvin and I grew up together at Winthrop Park and then it was on to Kate Sullivan, Cobb, and Leon. As it happens, we lost touch after high school but ran into each other a few times on the street. I was very sorry to hear about this and my prayers to all of Marvin's family.

Too soon for you to leave us. Marvin was always the class act and a true southern gentleman. Having known him for many years, he was always our friend. Marvin was a great friend to many as we experienced those golden years of Kate Sullivan, Cobb, and Leon "growin' up" times in Tallahassee. It didn't matter whether it was baseball, Sunday afternoon football at Winthrop Park, or hunting out on Buck Lake Road, Marvin was always a part of the fun. He was a good man, then, and remained so for the rest of the years. Blessings to all of the Alford clan.
