Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. (Blackie) Mihalich, her parents Richard and Catherine Martin, brothers Joseph, Angelo and James Martin. Mary was born June 15, 1920 in South Fork, Pa. She was one of ten children enriching the lives of her parents Richard and Catherine (Lentini) Martin. Upon graduating from high school Mary moved to Akron, Ohio and then to Baltimore, Maryland to work and help support the family. During “the war” (WWII) Mary worked as a true “Rosie the Riveter” helping to support America’s war effort. After the war she moved home, married and started a family, with two sons; Charles and Richard. Fleeing the cold and snow the family moved to Tallahassee Christmas Eve 1955 and later added two more children, Michelle and Michael. Mary settled into the community as a housewife and mother. She became involved in Blessed Sacrament Parish Community, Saint Bernadette Circle and later Mother of Perpetual Help, working tirelessly with the ladies to support church and school activities for the children. She was a member of the Spanish Trail Homemakers Club, sponsored and supported by the Florida Department of Agriculture Home Extension Services and the neighborhood 4¬H Youth Club. Mary was an avid “crafter” and great cook, sharing her time and talents with friends and family. She enjoyed teaching others her skills and she loved being involved.
Mary is survived by her children, Charles “Chick” Mihalich (wife, Lucretia Thomas), grandson Nicholas; Richard Mihalich (wife, Michele Manfre) grandchildren Thomas (wife, Holly), Mary Grace and Theresa; Michelle Harrison (husband, Kenneth); Michael (wife, Laura,) grandchildren Victoria (husband, Mike) Tiffany, and Haley.
