She died in Tallahassee, Florida on February 16, 2011.
She is preceeded in death by her husband, Kennie D. Ward and her daughter, Barbara Jone Kaplan.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Patricia Mahan of Texas, two granddaughters, Mary E. Stafford of Tallahassee, Fl (husband Parke Stafford), and Heather A. Thompson of Tallahassee, Fl (husband Donnie Thompson), and two grandsons, Weldon John Mahan of Texas, and Jacques Kaplan of Texas; Great-grandchildren, Aislyn Stafford, Parke Stafford II, Mason Stafford, Chase Thompson, Julia Thompson and Drew Thompson; Two nephews, Obin and Marilynn Hamrick of Tallahassee, Fl, and Orvid and Jean Hamrick of Jacksonsville, Fl, as well as 5 great- nieces and- nephews; Special family friends Carl and Lolly Wier, and Laurie Alexander, plus many more who touched her life.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
