Maureen was born August 4, 1925, the daughter of George Reinhardt and Mary (McDermott) Reinhardt in Kansas City, where she lived her childhood. In 1946, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing from Saint Louis University, and moved to New York where she met and married Captain Vinton R. Antworth. During their 30-year marriage, they raised three children. During that time they lived in New Milford, Connecticut and Tampa, Florida.
She moved to Tallahassee in 1991 after retiring from University Community Hospital. Maureen was a hard-working, dedicated nurse in surgery and surgical administration for nearly 26 years at University Community Hospital in Tampa. She loved being a grandma.
She is survived by her sons Dr. Michael Antworth (Julie), Jon Antworth, and Christopher Antworth (Theresa); her grandchildren Carlos Ortiz (Sarah), Manuel Ortiz (Kimberly), Daniel Antworth (Vanessa), Stephen Antworth, Emily Antworth, Elizabeth Antworth, Joseph Antworth (Brittani), Matthew Antworth, Ellen Antworth, and eight great grandchildren; nephew Dr. J. Robert (Nora) Reinhardt of Holt, Mo.; and many great nieces and great nephews and their children, other relatives and friends.
Maureen was predeceased by her parents George and Mary Reinhardt, husband Captain Vinton Antworth, brother and sister in law Robert and Virginia Reinhardt, niece Kathleen Kapp. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Some of her favorite memories were spending time at Lake of the Ozarks with her parents and brother Bob; her time at the beach in Ship Bottom, New Jersey with her parents, uncles, brother and his family, and her children; and Thanksgivings at St George Island with her children and grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Westminster Oaks Bertrand Health Center for their exceptional care.
