Melba Kaye Bender, 79, of Tallahassee, Florida was called home by the Lord on Monday, June 15th, 2026. Kaye lived her life seeing God’s handwork in all things which cascaded into the lives of all those she knew.
Kaye worked with the State of Florida for 32 years in data entry followed by 15 years as head cashier for HCA. She had been a member of All Nations Church Tallahassee since 2005, working devotedly to the Children’s Church, which stemmed from her love of teaching children about the Lord in her teenage years at Oak City Assembly of God here in Tallahassee.
Kaye’s passion in life was living for the Lord and her family. She enjoyed her time with her husband of 43 years, Calvin Bender, her siblings, children, and grandchildren. The outdoors brought daily joy for Kaye, from mountains to beaches or mowing the lawn. Teaching and worshiping the Lord through reading her bible or her time in Children’s Church also enriched Kaye’s life.
Kaye is survived by her husband Cal, son Lee (Lindsay), daughter Hollie, grandchildren Evelynn and Preston, as well as her siblings Doris, Buddy, Alda and Kathy. She is preceded by her father and mother Alvin and Eunice Simpson and twin sister Faye.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 24th at 1:00 pm at All Nations Church Tallahassee, 3608 Centerville Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Kaye’s name to All Nations Church Children’s Ministry, https://anctal.churchcenter.com/giving
