

Melvin Lee Shank, 83, beloved husband and father, of 2346 Clare Drive died Tuesday, March 27 at Capital Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
The service will be held at Freedom First Assembly of God Church, at 2 pm on Saturday, with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation shall precede the ceremony from 1pm to 2pm at the church.
A native of Ohio, he lived in Tallahassee since 1962. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at the Pentagon in Washington DC where he met and married his wife of 59 years, Eneree Cobb. After moving to Tallahassee, he continued his service with the U.S. Postal Service until he retired in 1984 at age 55. He and his wife also owned and operated the Mission Road Nursery and Kindergarten for 18 years. He was an active member of Freedom First Assembly of God Church where he served for many years as a Board member. In 2009 he was granted, by unanimous decision, the position of Honorary Board Member by the church members.
Survivors include his wife, Eneree Cobb Shank of Tallahassee; two daughters, Diane Shank Whitaker of Tallahassee and Gail Shank Silvers of Destin, FL; one granddaughter, Jenna Silvers Howard of Tallahassee; two brothers, Richard Shank and Bruce Shank; one Sister, Betty Beaston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Fueral Home in Tallahaseee, Florida.
