Michelle Marie Allard, 54, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away Monday, May 14, 2018. She was born on September 17, 1963 in Highland Park, Illinois. Michelle’s family moved to Cape Coral, Florida in 1970. She attended Bishop Verot High School in Ft. Myers, Florida. She graduated from Beloit College and Florida State University with degrees in Geology. Michelle was a licensed Professional Geologist in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. She worked with an environmental consulting firm in Tallahassee for the past twenty years.
Michelle (a.k.a. “MA”) was a lover of science, nature, the environment, and dogs - especially her beagle Sherman. She was a “child of the 60’s” who championed progressive causes regardless of the venue. Michelle was a mentor to many, especially women, in a predominantly male profession. She enjoyed traveling with David to Canada, the West Coast, to Europe and other places especially those with unique geological and other natural features as well as wildlife.
She will be greatly missed but always remembered by her many friends, professional colleagues, family, and by David her loving companion of many years. A memorial celebration of Michelle’s life will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Tallahassee Garden Club on North Calhoun Street from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial donations can be made in memory of Michelle to the Tallahassee Humane Society or to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
