

Miladeen (Millie) Hostetter, 94, of Tallahassee, Florida, went to her heavenly home on June 15, 2024. She was at home, surrounded by her loving family, including her dear friend and wonderful caregiver, Stephanie Brown.
Miladeen was born to William Eugene Ward and Maude Trotman Ward on October 15, 1929, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She graduated in 1952 from Stetson University in Deland, Florida, with a degree in religious education. After graduation, she was employed as Educational Director of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Miladeen and her beloved husband, Albert, lived all over the southeastern United States, including New Orleans, Panama City, Pensacola, and Jacksonville, as well as Newfoundland, Canada, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, before Albert retired from the U.S. Coast Guard. Millie was a devoted member of the local church wherever they lived, volunteering her time teaching Sunday School, serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in missions work, and working as a substitute teacher. After Albert retired, they settled in Tallahassee, Florida, where she served as church secretary at Parkway Baptist Church for twenty years.
Millie was predeceased by her husband, Albert Hostetter, and her sister, Gloria Ward. She is survived by four children: Mary (David) Mann, Susan (David) Mandell, Bert (Patti) Hostetter, and John (Allison) Hostetter. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Allen (Susana) Mandell, Stephen (Katie) Mandell, Frank Hostetter, Vincent (Shanna) Hostetter, Thomas (Amanda) Hostetter, Heather (Josh) Dollar, Brittney Harvey and JuliaAnne Harvey; ten great-grandchildren with another on the way. Additionally, she is survived by two sisters, Sarah (Dallas) Johnson and Christi (James) Gray, and one brother, David (Christie) Ward, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Seminole Baptist Church on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with the family receiving friends at 10:00 a.m. . The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Florida Baptist Children's Home or Big Bend Hospice.
