Mitchell C Graham

May 26, 1963August 8, 2012

Mitchell Graham, 49, passed away on August 8 after a long struggle with congestive heart failure. Born May 26, 1963 in Washington, DC, he was the son of Meade and Nancy Graham.

Mitch and his family moved to Tallahassee in May 1973. He attended Raa Middle School, where he played trombone in the band, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1981. Following graduation, he studied at Tallahassee Community College until his spirit of adventure led him to join the US Army, where he served as a military policeman in the states and in Germany.

During most of his working career, Mitch was a business manager in the auto services industry, most recently the service manager at Auto Xperts. He enjoyed his many years of work there, especially meeting and helping customers.

Mitch will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity and kindness to friends. He liked to help people in less fortunate circumstance and often shared his home with friends in need. His family and many friends will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister Lori Graham, brother Matthew Graham, niece Stephanie Sheward, nephew Steven Sheward, several aunts, uncles and cousins, and his pet daschund Rusty.

No services are planned. A private family gathering to celebrate his life will take place on St. George Island, where Mitch had been living in recent months. For those who wish, memorial donations would be greatly appreciated to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., 32308, where Mitchell received wonderful care at Hospice House during his final days.

Dear Meade, Nancy, Lori and Matt,
I was so very sorry to hear Mitch's death and I cannot imagine the pain you are facing. It has been many years since the last time I saw or spoke to your family. Even so, I have held warm thoughts for you and especially now, in your time of grief.

I am proud to know that I was a good friend of Mitch. He was a really good guy who always had a smile on, and had the coolest deep voice.....shoulda been a bass singer in a blues band.........Rest in peace, my friend, you will be missed more than you know.

Dear family and friends of Mitch,

I want to share with you how much I will miss him. He was one of my favorite people at Lincoln High School. He was always so kind and his wacky sense of humor kept us constantly laughing. I know that this is a difficult time, please know how much he was loved and how highly and brightly I hold his memory.

Sincerely, Vivian MacKinnon

Meade, Nancy, Lori & Matt
There are no words to express the emotions felt when a life ends too soon. We know the feeling and share your pain. I have no doubt that Heaven will shine a little brighter with Mitch looking down. His spirit will forever remain with those he loved and loved him in return. May God give you the strength you need to move forward and may the years of memories comfort you in your hours of need.
God Bless each of you. Our deepest sympathies to his entire family.
