She is survived by Jeff, her husband of almost 50 years; daughters Amanda and Elizabeth (Patrick) and son Michael (Aly); and granddaughters Elanora Anne and Cooper Rose.
Nancy was born to the late John and Ruth Kovtan in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on December 12, 1947. She grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan in St. Joe, Michigan, attended St. Joseph High School and was active in the Thespian and Drama Clubs, performing in multiple plays, variety shows and dance shows. She was also a member of the Pep Club. After graduating in 1966, Nancy studied Speech Pathology and received a Bachelor’s of Arts and Master’s of Arts from Eastern Michigan University.
Nancy loved to travel and had an eye for photography, taking thousands of photos in many countries. She played tennis, a certified Master Gardener in the states of Florida and South Carolina, volunteered at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C., assisted many cooking classes at Brown’s in Tallahassee, and spent many hours at soccer fields, baseball fields, and tennis courts.
Nancy returned to Tallahassee from Williamsport, PA, after Jeff’s retirement.
