Nita Y. Felker

Juanita “Nita” Y. Felker, 85 of Tallahassee died November 15, 2013 at her home. Nita was born November 26, 1927 in Birmingham, AL to William and Irdith Young and moved to Tallahasee on May 5, 2011 coming from Jacksonville, FL. Nita was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Tallahassee. In Jacksonville, Nita was active member of Lakeshore United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was involved in its Women’s Circle. Nita was also a member of the Jacksonville German-American Club and the Young at Heart Travelling Club. She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jack Coppenger. Nita was united in marriage on November 26, 1999 to her husband, Irving who resides in Tallahassee. She is also survived by her sons, Bill & Kathy Coppenger of Tallahassee and Jim & Wanda Coppenger of Pensacola; her daughters, Gwen Webb of Pensacola and Jeanne Coppenger of Memphis, TN and her seventeen grandchildren including Nick Coppenger and Andrew & Kristi Coppenger and her numerous great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Culley’s Meadowwood Funeral Home, Timberlane Chapel from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Monday, November 18, 2013 where funeral services will be held that day at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in Culley’s Meadowwood Memorial Park.
