Norina Zuccaroli King, 84, of Tallahassee died Easter Sunday, (4/1/2018) at Capital Regional Medical Center. Born in Trieste, Italy she met and married her husband, Cecil E King, Jr in 1954 and they both came to the US following the completion of his military service. In the early 1960’s she became a US citizen and remained a proud and patriotic citizen who believed in the American Dream her whole life, to the point that she insisted her children speak English and always use proper grammar. She began her career working at Reinauer Women’s Clothing then as a secretary for various state departments, including FSU, the DOT, as well as others and finally retiring from the State of Florida Attorney General’s office.
Strong in her faith she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church until she moved to the north side of town when she became a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She sang in the choir at her church for as long as her health would allow her. She loved to learn and continued to take various college courses and was also a member of the Italian Club. She was an artist and expressed her art through knitting and tapestries, through her drawings and painting, and her love of music and particularly opera. She also helped others and would regularly contribute food to the homeless shelter for as long as she was independently mobile. Norina always held that her two most important things in her life were her family and keeping a clean house.
Survivors include her sons: Cecil (Lori) King, III of Pendergrass, GA, Carl “Eddie” King of Tallahassee; grandchildren: Adam King of Atlanta, Victoria King of New Hampshire, Mark Holland of Colorado, Cody Kennedy and Bailey Kenned-Forbes both of Tallahassee; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Kinsey and Josh Kinsey of Pendergrass, GA; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
