She was born on August 21,1937 to Monroe Thompson and Audie Belle Thompson. Odene married Allen Griffin in 1969. She retired after 30 years of service with the Florida Department of State and was a resident of Tallahassee, Fl. Odene enjoyed cooking, tending to flowers and vegetable garden, jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her two sons, James Griffin and Edward Griffin (Shannon); grandchildren, Shepard Griffin and Melissa Stratton (David); a great grandchild, Taylor Stratton; and brothers, Herbert Thompson and Mitchell Thompson.
Odene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen Griffin; sisters, Lorine Vause and Janice Robbins.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, 2:00 PM at the Sopchoppy United Methodist Church.
