Opal L. Hyatt

Opal L. Hyatt, 84, of Tallahassee, FL passed away on Wed., December 3, 2014.Opal was born in Chipley, FL on July 28, 1930 to parents Willie Alonza and Mary Magdalene Lassiter.She moved to the Tallahassee area in 1972 from Panama City Beach, FL. Opal was a Secretary for the Dept. of Revenue, and was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Tallahassee. Survivors include son, Terry Hyatt of Tallahassee, FL.; daughters, Betty Sue Allen of Crawfordville, FL and Anita Dixon of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Olis Sage of Panama City Beach, FL.; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her sons, Ted O'Dell Hyatt, Jr. and Frederick Allen Hyatt; daughter, Nanette Hyatt; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. A Visitation will be held Mon., Dec. 8th from 5-7 PM at Culley's Meadowwood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Rd. A Celebration of Life will take place on Tue., Dec. 9th at 10 AM at First Baptist Church, Tallahassee.The Committal services will follow at Piney Grove Cemetery in Chipley at 2:30 PM (1:30 Central time).
