Patricia D Owens, 65, of Crawfordville died Sunday (2/18) at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. She was born in New Albany, Indiana and grew up in Muncie, Indiana. She relocated to Florida in 1983 and has been a resident of the Crawfordville area for the last six years. Patricia followed in her parents footsteps and pursued a career in education. She attended and graduated Purdue University with a bachelors degree in Physical Education. Go Boilermakers!!! That is for all our Indiana University and Ball State family members! She started her career in Physical Education and was a Health and Drug educator at the time of her retirement. Pat always was focused on her family and she spent as much time as she could doing anything and everything with family. Her favorite memories were going to Disney, Sanibel, and always finding good deals!
She loved to find special things for others. She blessed so many by a lot of the things she did behind the scenes that only she and God knew about. Pat was also very strong in her faith and a mighty woman of prayer. Many would say: “Can you have Mama Pat Pray?” She was full of life and fearless no matter what she faced. She was vibrant, and had a calm spirit always knowing God would make a way. Though her body was weak, we have all confidence her spirit is soaring with the Lord! She leaves us with a strong legacy of love ,family, faith, and generosity that never will end.
Survivors include her husband: Charles R; children: Jennifer of Orlando, Jamie of Tallahassee, Robert Dooley of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Katie Mortenson of Mustang, OK; brothers: Stanley Jay of Ft Wayne, IN, Johnny Jay of St. Louis, MO; sister: Barbara Wilmoth of South Carolina; and grandchildren: Jocelyn Owens, Isla Dooley, Ireland Dooley, and Jayden Mortenson.
