Peter was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin where he lived with his parents, Bernice and Louis Worzalla until he was a teenager. The family relocated to Milwaukee where he graduated from high school and got his first job working for The Milwaukee Journal.
In 1951 Peter enlisted in The United States Air Force where he was trained and served as an air policeman. One of Peters early duty assignments was at Loring Air Force Base in Maine. It was there that he met the love of his life Yvette. Peter and Yvette became husband and wife in May of 1953. While stationed at Loring the two of them had their first son Robert. Peter’s next assignment was to Croughton, England where their first daughter, Diann, was born. His next duty assignment was Madison, Wisconsin which was nice for the family because it was close to his childhood home and allowed everyone to be near and get to know relatives. After Madison The USAF sent Peter and the Family on a second tour of duty to England where he was stationed at RAF Bentwaters. This assignment made it possible for Peter and Yvette to visit places like Paris and to explore England. It was while on this second tour of duty to England where Peter and Yvette decided to adopt two sisters, Lisa Marie and Susan, which instantly doubled the family size. Shortly after adopting the two girls their second son, Anthony, arrived completing the family. Everyone was hoping for a warm place for a next duty assignment, but it was not to be, Peter, Yvette and their 5 children were off to Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Michigan. The remainder of Peter’s Air Force service was spent there. After 20 years in the Air Force, all in places not of his own choosing, Peter and Yvette decided that they would like to live in someplace warm for a change, so they decided to call Palm Bay Florida home.
After military retirement Peter worked for John Hancock Insurance as a sales agent and worked for Florida Today. In 1986 Peter took the position of general manager of Sound Anchors in Palm Bay until he retired. Shortly after his retirement, Peter and Yvette decided that they needed a change of scenery so they moved to Tallahassee where they could be closer to their daughter, Diann. Not long after moving to Tallahassee, Yvette’s health began to fail. Peter was there as a husband and caregiver for Yvette through her long illness and was with her when she passed. Peter lived and was lovingly cared for by his daughters, Diann and Susan during his last years. Peter was at home under hospice when Jesus called Him. Peter will be remembered by all who knew him as a dedicated husband and father.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Robert (Debbie) and Anthony (Martha); along with 3 daughters, Diann (Debi), Lisa Marie and Susan. Peter also had several grand and great grandchildren.
