Richard Vanleason Fox, Lt. Col., USAF, ret., 82 of Tallahassee, died March 20, 2014. Richard was born July 23, 1931 in Loma Linda, California to Albert V. and Livesay Blanche (Murphy) Fox and moved to Tallahassee in 2003 coming from Colorado Springs, CO. Richard is a retired Lt. Colonel with the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross . Richard was an avid golfer and attended Wildwood Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee. He was united in marriage on March 26, 1955 to his wife, Barbara Joyce Fox who preceded him in death on January 6, 2013. Richard is survived by his three daughters, Leslie (Dave) Troastle of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Kim (Mark) Dorsett of Tallahassee and Kelli (Andy) Gibbs of Gladstone, MO; his brother, Don Fox of Colorado; his half-brother, Gary Fox of California; his ten grandchildren, Matthew, John and Greg Warton, Kathy Ledwith, Ryan and Scott Dorsett, Van and Amanda Troastle, Jessica McCoy and Jennifer Gibbs and his two great-grandchildren, Jack and Bella Warton. Friends will be received from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Culley’s Meadowwood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel where funeral services will be held that day at 3:00 pm. Interment will take place next to his wife, Barbara in Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard’s memory to the Wounded Warrior project. Arrangements under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Tallahassee, FL.
