Richard “Don” Harrell, 69, of Tallahassee died Tuesday (7/17) at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. He was raised in Wausau, FL and came to Tallahassee to attend FSU in the late 1960’s and remained here working as an engineer for 30 years at the Department of Transportation in both Tallahassee and Chipley. Following his retirement, he was employed by Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan in the Tallahassee office. He was a member of Bradfordville First Baptist Church. He enjoyed boating and fishing and was a sports enthusiast. He loved to make people laugh and his faith and family were always his top priorities.
Don is survived by his wife: Judith; children: Melissa (Warren) Whittaker, Andrew (Julianna) Harrell both of Tallahassee, Melanie Harrell of Jacksonville; brothers: Doug of Tallahassee, Dix of Gainesville; sister: Dale Gauthier of Wausau, and grandchildren: Trey Whittaker, Ansley Whittaker, Parker Jones, and Jackson Harrell.
