Dr. Richard Arthur Hudson, 74, of Tallahassee died Wednesday (11/8) at his home at Westminster Oaks. A native of Washington, DC he first moved to Tallahassee in 1980 from Columbus, Ohio where he earned his doctorate at Ohio State University. Dr. Hudson had been a University Administrator working at several universities including Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, Baptist College, South Carolina, Ohio State, Florida State, and Florida Institute of Technology. He loved working with young adults. He was an avid reader and the news was his passion. He was obsessed with traveling the world to experience other cultures and traveled to over 85 countries. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church here in Tallahassee.
Survivors include his wife Jane, son: Mark Edward (Jill) of Salt Lake City, Utah; and two grandchildren: Janie and Jack.
A memorial service will be on Monday (11/20) at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Westminster Oaks with Rev. Brad Clayton officiating.
