It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Friedlander on July 26, 2024, a beloved father, devoted husband, skilled crafter, and passionate McDonald’s enthusiast.
Born on October 28, 1947, in New York City, Bob grew up with a spirit of curiosity and a love for life that he carried with him throughout his days.
A crafter and business man, Bob had a unique talent for transforming ordinary materials into works of art. His hands were always busy creating, whether it was floral creations, tile projects, or handmade gifts. His creative spirit was a testament to his patience, attention to detail, and boundless imagination. Bob deeply enjoyed the friends he came to know in the crafting community and always looked forward to shows and events from Miami to Tallahassee.
Those who knew Bob will fondly remember his love for McDonald’s. He held court at breakfast with treasured friends daily for more than 10 years over a sausage biscuit and hash browns. He found joy in the simple pleasure of his favorite fast food. His lighthearted stories about his McDonald’s experiences and his infectious enthusiasm for the golden arches will forever bring smiles to our faces.
Beyond his many talents and interests, Bob was a man of great kindness, integrity, and humility. He touched the lives of many with his generous heart and unwavering support, always ready to lend a hand or offer words of encouragement. He worked for many companies collecting accounts receivable before he retired in 2004. He always won awards for his success in collections. He was able to accomplish this because of his empathy and kindness toward debtors and all he encountered.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Anita, his cherished children, Mark, Tracy and James, grandchildren; Heather, Alexander and Evan, and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the countless ways he enriched our lives.
No services have yet been scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tallahassee FL or St. Louis Catholic Church in Miami FL.
Rest in peace, Bob. Your legacy of love, creativity, and joy will live on in our hearts forever.
